Cyber-attack and data loss continue to be ranked as two of the top three risks facing directors and officers, with health and safety ranked as the top risk.

Q: How important are the following risks for the directors and officers of your organisation (whether financially or reputationally)?

From a regional perspective, there were several variations in the risk rankings. Cyber-attacks and/or data loss remain in the top three for seven of the eight regions surveyed. GB was the only region where cyber-attack was ranked as number one and North America and the Middle East were the only regions that ranked data loss as their top risk. Africa was the only region where neither cyber-attack or data loss featured in the top three.

Top seven risks to Directors and Officers - by industry

Q: How important are the following risks for the directors and officers of your organisation (whether financially or reputationally)?

From an industry perspective, cyber-attacks and/or data loss were ranked in the top three across all sectors. For finance and insurance, services and transportation and retail in particular, they were ranked as two of the top three risks. For the energy and utilities sector, unlike last year, data loss did feature in the top seven risks.
